Or, you could suggest a place and say that you've heard good things about it and want to try it.

Or you could say that you haven't gone out much is his area of town, and could he take you to one of his favorite places there.

just tell him that you'll be in the area for some reason of the area that you want to meet. 


"hey, can we meet at blah blah, because i will be in that area for blah blah that day..."


let us know how it  goes.  i want to live vicariously through you.  i think it would be fun to have a ton of dates at your fingertips.  damn i miss college!
