on the road so that you dont get bored and you know you have a long drive ahead of you, besides your favorite music? I have always wanted to take a good book but I get dizzy after reading the first page!!

Do you do any crafty things?? I always read on long trips. I used to get dizzy reading in the car and then I guess the bordeom overcame the nausea. It is a great time to think. I love looking at scenery and houses and cows and gardens and ........ And then there is always sweet sleep!!!!! I can fall asleep in a car very easily( again, boredom overcoming any finicky sleep hang-ups). You could meditate!! Ohhhhmmmmm.

I always knit in the car.  Even on short trips (like as little as 10 minutes) I will knit if DH is driving.

Lots and lots of magazines.  And then when I think I have enough, I buy a few more.

(Sort of related confession:  I went to the beach last weekend and spent $20 on magazines, some gum, and a pair of cheap-o dollar store sunglasses )

LOL I agree, I take about 2 or 3 magazines, like my past road trip, I finished reading it before our  trip was over, and was looking to buy another ONE on the way back home!! LOL I love to read, not necessarily books (I've read a few), but more magazines....LOL

It is an 8-9 hour drive home, so we take it fairly regularly - I take:
TONS of mags - like theotherjess, if I think I have enough I usually get a few more
a book - I can read in the car
I have a handheld Tetris game that my DH got me for christmas (brookstone for like $15)
ipod w/ itrip
i started embroidery so the next trip I guess I can bring a few projects with me!

I hate hate hate being in the car that long.

I travel overseas quite often, so I always bring a ton of magazines to keep me occupied on those long flights.

I like to make up stupid games or find games that are specifically for car trips and change them around to make them more fun.  I can't read or play video games in the car without getting nauseous so that is pretty much all there is.

I remember when I was a kid we had some of these mini-versions of board games like Monopoly or Trouble, but they weren't that fun.
