Introduce yourself section?
Permalink Closed

I don't know if the is the right place to put this, but I was thinking there could be a spot for new memebers to introduce themselves. We could all say hi and then they may not feel so weird about posting.

I get the vibe that some people realize that we all know each other and maybe a little hestiant about posting.

Just a thought- sorry if this was the wrong places to post this. I have been thinking about this for a while, but never got around to posting it.

I wonder if in this section you could put some general info about yourself too - so new people can see who they relate too, have similar style icons, etc, maybe a standard question list? I know some people are more wary of putting out personal info as others, but maybe area, fashion related questions, marital status, kids / ages - again I know some of that gets personal for some but would be completely voluntary. I think it's a great idea. Don't know how it would work logistically, but sounds like a good idea

Hey girls - moved this thread into this technical section, as it has more to do with the forum than with the monthly issue/web site (the other thread is for comment about the monthly issue/site, which we'd love to hear!).

It's a nice idea - I'll check with Kris when she gets back from vacation.

As far as learning about people's interests, etc, you can also post your interests and where you are from and so on in your profile.  You can view a person's profile by clicking on their name.

And of course you can always post polls, etc in the style polls or general interest polls sections.

HTH!

My name is Callie and I found out about this site on the What Not to Wear website. I think it's a really cool idea and I'm enjoying the forums and such, but what is with the brand-names underneath people's pictures on the postings?? Mine says Nine West and I don't know what that's about? Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Callie, and welcome! The brand names have to do with how many posts one has.... I think we ought to revisit it. Basically, a person gets a brand name based on their # of posts, like a lot of sites.. We has some discussion when the site started on what those might be for a few handbag brands but we'll probably revisit that - as a community - soon.

I think that is a good idea.  I lurked for a little while before posting...I wasn't sure if this was a 'closed' community that would not take well to newbies, but after a couple weeks, I realized how nice everyone is and joined in.

Heard about this site from a friend who said this group was "so in the know" on fashions-thus why I'm here! :) Am a fellow fashionista who loves the classic clothes that won't go out of style. Dress pretty conservatively, but love a little extra flair with what I wear!
