My hair is about shoulder length, and naturally curly. I usually straighten it, but I'm getting really sick of always having to blow dry it. Plus with it so humid, that after I straighten it it gets poofy after 10 minutes of being outside.
My problem is that I don't think my hair looks nice when I wear it curly. I'm planning on getting a haircut soon, and I need to get atleast 2 inches off because my ends are so dead from straightening my hair so much. But I need help deciding what kind of haircut to get.
I don't know what type of style will look good with curly hair, and I was also hoping there might be a special way to cut hair to somehow loosen the curls a bit. My hair isn't super curly, but I would prefer to have looser waves instead of small curls. I'm definetly interested in looking at different pictures of examples of haircuts I can get, but I didn't really know where to look online. Thanks in advance!
you could ask your stylist to cut it so you can wear it curly. usually when i cut curly hair i put a lot of layers in the hair. (the length of the layers depends on the type of curl)
maybe ask you stylist for a few different options on styling it. you could always ask for a "consultation" with your appointment so they give you a little bit more time. also, if you go on a mon/tues your stylist probably won't be as busy, so you can really talk in depth about styling.
from the way you are describing your hair, it might be nice to try putting pomade or an anti-frizz serum in your hair with a bit of gel, let it mostly air-dry then run your fingers through your hair while lightly blowdrying. makes it a nice wavy but not too curly style.
almost any haircut works with curly hair, ive found from experience. i have naturally curly hair and ive had it super short in a faux hawk, all the way down my back, and everything in between and i would always(and still do) alternate wearing it curly and straight and inevitably i always get compliments when i do it curly. so you can almost find any hairstyle, as long as it has a tad bit of length, and it will most likely look cool when you do it curly. (i dont know about any hair cuts making the curls loser, i think that would just have to do with how you style it)
as for some sites, the two that i get the most of my ideas from are www.ukhairdressers.com (go to the style galleries) and www.behindthechair.com (check out the collections page)
