Ok, so our kitchen is almost done, after being a mess for 2 mos. We did a modern oak cabinet with stainless appliances. Now I am racking my brain on wall colors that will bring out the room and keep a classy modern feel but we cannot agree. any suggestions on colors. Oh and it is still a small narrow room.

Thanks

I think red would be an awesome color. I love red w/ stainless steel.

what about a pear/avocado/lime/leaf green?  i did my kitchen in benjamin moore's pale avocado and it looks great with our stainless appliances. if that's too light, split pea is the next shade darker and that's a great color too.  also ralph lauren's wild daisy is a beautiful pale pear color.

That was my thought as well but he says no green?? Oh well I'll keep trying to convince him.

I like the Idea of red too, but I'm concerned the room is too small for so much color. Maybe 1 wall? if so what other color with it?

Thanks for the advice

We always paint w/ dark colors and I have always been happy w/ it. I was thinking if it is a kitchen then you may not have that many wall exposed.

If you wanted to go w/ one wall all red then maybe a off white or a beige color would look nice.

My kitchen is a red color from Benj Moore.  You can see pics of it in my thread somewhere below.  It's not a "true" red, but rather has a more blue-y warm undertone to it.  I forget the color name.  If you look very closely at the grain in your cabinets, you will see several variations of colors.  That might be a good place to start in choosing a color.

How about yellow shade?   Nice bright and warm.

i painted my kitchen last year (after taking an entire year testing and deciding on paint colors... i'm a slow decision maker sometimes... anyway...) my style is modern and minimal. we have toffee colored cabinets and a dark, rich chocolate brown countertop and wood floors. i ended up painting the walls a martha stewart color called honeysuckle. it's slightly peachy orange and i'm very happy with it.

what color are your countertops?

red would look pretty, but if you don't have a lot of light, it can look cramped. I wanted to do my living room all red, but it was too dark, so we just did below the chair rail.

How about a seafoam color? (It's not exactly green.) Or a cool, purpley grey? My husband's "man room" is a beautiful grey color that could look really cool in a kitchen.

Okay, so I am going to buy paint tonight. I think I have decided between a few shades of green. One is a lighter Avacado type green and the other is a beige with green tint (sorry hard to describe the colors.) I think we are going to do a white/cream colored ceiling and trim. I think it will really tie in the counter tops and floors with the cabinets and appliances, or at least I hope so. I like the darker color but I am afraid it is too army green. Oh well the worst case I repaint. I'll post pics when It is all finished. Probably a few weeks, for cabs, windows and doors.

Thanks for the input.
