Official secret santa sign-ups.....
Permalink Closed

Ok guys, here it is, the 2009 ST Secret Santa. I think we have pretty much all decided on doing a White Elephant/Handmade gift exchange this year. The only money spent will be on shipping.

Anyone who would like to take part in the exchange pm me your name and address by Sunday November 22. This allows for 2 weeks to sign-up. I will have your secret santa recipient to you a few days later (25).

Let's say that the mail by date will be December 15. This will ensure delivery by Christmas and still allow enough time make/find those gifts.

Anything else I may be forgetting, feel free to add to this post.

There will be a likes/dislikes post soon......

I just PMed you and am really excited by the idea of a Secret Santa! It really sounds like fun! But since this my first year, is there anything in particular I should know?

It was also just brought to my attention, to make things a little smoother, please message me once you have sent your gift along with the name of your recipient. Thanks! Let's have fun with this!

Maybe you have something in your closet that hasn't gotten much love in a while, that you think your recipient would love? Accessories, something like that?

I really suggest everyone use a mailing methos that is traceable, even just parcel post with delivery conformation...

I triple triple triple ditto this suggestion. Since we aren't spending any money but on shipping costs, it would be really great if everybody could use a delivery method that has a confirmation. Something with some sort of tracking method also really helps so that the SS organizer can figure out what/if something goes wrong.

Also, Rosie, it might be a good idea to confirm addresses with people. Maybe before you send out the SS names you could also send a email back to the person to double-check the address? It's super easy to drop a number or type something in backwards.

To the posters who are first-time participants, it really helps not only to go through the likes/dislikes thread that will be going up but to peruse that poster's old threads and maybe even check out their blog or Facebook page, if they have one.

I have a question. There are tons of things on etsy for under $5, that are SO cute. If I choose could I include that with my gift? Really not that anyone else would be obligated to spend anything, but supporting other crafter/artists during the Holidays makes me happy too...

definitely! I mailed out tow packages to my recipient last year, and I don't think she ever got either. :(
