your favorite OPI color for a formal event (for toes)??

Hi everyone - I am going to a formal/ball in a couple of weeks and I am looking for some nail polish that would look good with my shoes and dress.  My shoes will probably be strappy silver or gold, and my dress will either be black, dark blue or a darkish purple (haven't decided yet).

Since I live overseas, I am having a friend who is travelling here from the US in a couple of days get me some OPI polish - b/c you cannot get that here and I am bored of the ones I already have.  I just need to give her the name.  She (my friend) recommended a dark blue called "Yoga to Get This Blue" or a dark dark purple.  Any suggestions?

Is a blue or purplish tent okay for a formal or should I stick with something more conservative - like a pink or red or brown?  Any and all recs appreciated!

I like pinks almost  neutral colors for formal events...
However if you don't already have the color I highly recommend "metro chic" from the OPI for Sephora line. I LOVE this color.

My absolute favorite to wear is Sapphire in the Snow.  It's a dark purpley blue that's part of the holiday collection.

That being said, I've noticed in the magazines that a lot of actresses are wearing nude or very light beige polish to formal events lately.   It looks pretty in the photos. Very clean and young.

For formal I would wear a super light pink - enough to give your toes some polish and a hint of color, but not so pink that someone who glanced down at your feet would necessary notice

Ok I know this post is a little late, but I just have been loving Essie's wicked lately and have been getting compliments on it a lot.  Usually they have Essie wherever they have OPI and I like them both.
