We just bought our house in February and have completely updated and refreshed it so it's more our style. Enjoy!!!
Family room before (ick):
Family room after (fabulous):
The family room has changed a little. I now have black tables instead of the rattan ones.
Kitchen/breakfast nook before (okay but bland plus I hate blue):
Kitchen after:
New stainless appliances, new granite countertops, new curtains, new chandeliers, repainted.

Formal living room after (taken from the side):
I now have different, matching lamps on these tables.
And here's my 1/2 bath. I don't have a "before" picture, but it used to be dark blue w/ a colonial style curtain. I still have a little work to do in here. The little thing on the back of the potty was a garage sale find.
The walls are actually brown, not mauve (same as the dining room color).
Dining room before:
Dining room after (plus close-up of my rug):
I got the plant and stand in the corner at garage sales yesterday.
We live in MA, so the houses are pretty traditional and predictable. Luckily, the front of my house isn't colonial-like. It has peaks, so that makes it more interesting.
I love what you've done w/ the house. Very classy and a big improvement. I especially love the family room and the kitchen. Your bedroom- vast improvement. If these this isn't the most hideous bedding set, I don't know what is! And the valance! EEK!!!

Thanks so much! I know, wasn't it HORRID!!! You should have seen the bed in person. It was all sunken down in the middle. And those hideous curtains were also in the bathroom along w/ rolls of matching border which were (thankfully) never put up.
Your kitchen's before photo is my kitchen exactly (except we never put in a center island); I SOOOO regretted picking out the blue "marble." Nice to know someone else made the mistake too (not, you I know, but still).
ETA: We have very similar tastes in furniture and wall colors. I am doing similar stuff with my house :)
Thanks, everyone! The green in the living room and entry (see pic below) were actually much brighter than I'd wanted, but now I really like them! Here's the entry. It is 2 shades lighter than the color of the living room:
