While I was at the beach both my mom and I noticed that I am developing these random patches of brown spots (very pale and not extremely noticable - only if you are looking for them) on my body. I have one on my stomach that is a good 2 inches in diameter. My mom is thinking it is from the bc pills I am on. We've never noticed brown spots on my body before and we were just at the beach last August and they weren't there and I recently switched from a triphasic to a monophasic pill last September so it could really be that but I'm unsure.
Anyone have experience with this? Will the spots go away ever without having to do laser peels or anything? Do you think it is pill related? I see my doctor next month so I want to ask her but it seems like everytime I bring something up to her she blows it off which pisses me off (I will be replacing her for next year though...) and I want to have time to do some research and sound intelligent before I go and ask about it.
Honestly, if i were you would go see a dermatologist because those might be a sign or form of some kind of skin cancer. It might be from your pills, but to be on the safe side, since its light brown spots that JUST showed up and it has to do with your skin i would def get them checked out to make sure its not skin cancer or anything like that. I know my doctor always tells me "watch for any changes in your skin" and I know if that happened to me i would def call him. HTH and good luck!
I had something like that on my back mine were a light brown also, just a little discoloration, they were sunspots, it is like a fungus of the skin. It is very common for people to have them here in FL. Also other people that i know have them in white. I don't know if it is this or not, but i would defintely go to the dermotologist, it is probably some skin informality and they will give you some cream.
it could be melasma -- which is just a hyperpymentation of that's caused by hormones, so changing bc pills could totally cause it. when i was on the pill i used to get this above my upper lip if i was in the sun at all (attractive, right?). a dermatologist can give you a cream to lighten it.
i would at least have the doctor check it out just to make sure it's nothing serious, though.
