i have always wanted to go back and get my MBA. and now that i have the money to do so, i fear i don't have the time. i travel quite a bit for my job and am afraid that would affect my performance/grade in classes. do you know of any other professionals that you went to grad school with that traveled a lot for their work and somehow made it happen?
you can take as long as you want to earn your mba. you don't have to get it in 2 years per se. I don't know how much you travel or when you travel (weekday vs. weekend) but my university (LSU) offered 3 different ways to get your mba: executive, professional, and regular. The only difference with the 3 types was when you went to class. For example executive mba's went to class on Saturdays, professionals had all their classes on week nights, and regular mbas had classes during the day and if they wanted to at night. Check with your local universities to see if they have multiple ways to get your mba and one program is bound to work for you.
fabulous! thanks so much for responding LSUBatgirl! I would be the "executive" program for sure... i travel 3-4 days per week for my position. whooheee! when we move, i am looking into the grad programs! :) you just made my day...
I think there is a 7-year limit to get an MBA at many schools, but beyond that you can take some time. Most EMBA programs range from 21-26 months and are done primarily through internet and/or weekend courses and a few week-in-residence programs throughout the term of the program (this is the common data I've been finding in my search!).
I think the most important thing is to assure the program is nationally accredited by AACSB.

nope- i didn't know that they even had programs where you could just go on saturdays. i thought you had to go nights... thats why i asked.
i am looking at Capital and OSU. I imagine that OSU would definitely have a program like that, but the thing that is holding me back is the fact that they are HUGE!
hmmmm i wonder if i went there though if i would have access to the student football tickets? that would be reason enough to go to OSU for grad school for me!

You have to stand in line for the tickets.......They give out a certain number of tickets to students.

really? i just know all my friends that are alumni of OSU always have easier access to the football tickets than us non-OSU folks do... anyway, we are totally off subject now! i will check into OSU to see if they have a plan similiar to LSUbatgirls college.
