In honor of Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of Atonement, let's hear about your recent bad purchases. What have you bought within the last year that you regret, don't like as much as you thought you would, or aren't getting any use out of?
- Dark pink patent peep-toed heels. I wore them on Easter and they looked fab, but I haven't worn them since. I've thought about it, even put them on, and changed my mind several times. And they aren't exactly comfortable.
- BCBG cocktail dress. Pretty, but I haven't worn it yet and I'm not digging the empire style. Luckily it was only $15.
hundreds of dollars of make up/skincare. And I keep buying it. I am soon going on a ban. Its totally out of control and I feel like a total glutton.
Can't think of one specific thing.Haven't bought many clothes.
Ooh, this is me. Although anything I didn't like purchased at Sephora was taken back, I still bought a lot from drugstores/department stores that either don't take returns or I didn't know take returns. It seems this year I was ISO the perfect foundation and mascara, and I went through several different brands of each.
I take back probably between 50-60% of the stuff I post in the shopping threads (I do the majority of my shopping online, which it seems, maybe I shouldn't), so I suppose my list below could be much longer.
I also regret buying:
Any ON jeans. They don't fit me correctly. They fit fine at first, but 10 minutes later they've started stretching out and they continue to stretch out, making them look awful.
Some pieces of DIY furniture from Target (specifically, an entertainment stand (looked cheap once assembled), a desk hutch (almost impossible to assemble and therefore looks like crap), and 2 bookcases (I wanted one big bookcase, but bought 2 smaller ones b/c the big one wouldn't fit in my car. I should have just gone with the big one).
A few tops from Anthro which haven't washed well/fallen apart in the wash.
Juicy stretch flats. So uncomfortable that I don't feel like wearing them to break them in.
Anything crewneck! Not flattering on big busted women.
Not all of these were big purchases (like the jeans, or anything crewneck, some of the Anthro tops, but it adds up. I'm trying to be more selective in what I buy/cut back majorly on my spending, but I usually fail. Must keep at it though!

The first thing that pops into my mind is a dress I bought from a boutique in my hood to wear for an end-of-summer party. Its a watercolor satin halter dress. When am I ever going to wear this??? It was $60 - I never spend that much on a dress I'll wear 1x but the clerk was so pushy. Shouldda skipped it!
