Back in July I had promised to post the detailed written instructions I got from my hairstylest on how to use hot rollers (instead of a curling iron) to create big, loose waves. I am finally getting around to posting about this (sorry!). you need those huge clip things (sort of look like scissors) that stylests use to section the hair off. anyway, here are the instructions (better late than never, right?):
1. part hair on side as normal 2. Separate the back of hair from the front/sides (back section starts behind ear to behind other ear). Will have 3 sections.
Back section: 3. split the back section into 3 layers from top to bottom (underneath) 4. bottom layer of back section - add 2 big rollers side by side 5. middle layer of back secion - add 3 medium rollers side by side 6. top layer of back section - add 2 medium rollers. Pull hair straight up tightly so it is vertical when you start to roll it. this section needs more body b/c it is part of the top layer.
Front (or side) sections 1. add two rollers on the right side (this is the side of my part so there is less hair). Bottom - large; top - medium. 2. Add 3 rollers on the left side. Bottom - large; top 2 medium & should be side by side. The top two are where my side bangs are.
All rollers should lay horizontally when clipped (vs. vertical). Middle and bottom layers - pull horizontal. All top layers - pull vertically. Spray hair when curlers are in. leave in 5-30 minutes.
Hope these notes make sense! Let me know if you all have any questions.
