Ok girls please give me some advice/opinions.  I have been playing around a lot with my hair lately, mostly color.  For some reason right now I like a look with a lot of contrast.  So here's my hair now:


 Compared with the pic in my avatar you can tell I lightened the streaks and make the "chunkier"...okay here's my question:


I was thinking of adding some really dark brown/black, very thin pieces on the under layer, is the too much?  Also consider I just turned 30 and have a 5 year old so am I looking like I'm trying to look to young?  Honestly I like my hair now and am having fun experimenting but do I need to stop, is this too drastic for my age, etc.?

i think ur hair looks awesome & u look young so who cares if it's "age appropriate".  i mean if u looked all old & wrinkly w/ hair like that i'd think u were trying to look young, but right now i just think you ARE young so go for it!  and i bet ur little 5 yr old thinks ur the coolest mom ever!!  if u want to experiment, do it!  ur only gonna regret it when u actually ARE too old for that sorta thing.

I think you should break up the blond a bit. Mayeb put darker peices there as well as under.  Right now my hair is highlighted as thin as you can get with bright blonde and dark reddish/black and I get so many compliments on it.  I too love a drastic contrast.

itsapinkthing, you seriously look like you're still in college and I mean that as a compliment!


I do agree with Jen, though, maybe break up the blonde a bit with some lighter brown or darker brown highlights. You look awesome though and your hair rocks.

Aww your girls SO ROCK!  Thanks.  I swear I am the youngest parent at my duaghters school, so sometimes I worry.  But you all are so right I should do it now while i can still get away with it.


jen - I really wanted to add some bright true color, like real red.  But my office is more conservative, not very but too much so for that, but maybe I will break up the blond blocks.
