I live near South Coast Plaza which is the upscale mall of Orange County, and I've worked there amny years too as a S.A. at Nordstrom.  I never really feel intimidated nor did I act snooty to any customer cuz you never know.  I think here, all the S.A.'s understand even the 14 yr girl in Rainbow flip-flops can afford a LV Murakami (maybe more so than women 3x's their age).

It's kinda sad - all the guys say there is a premium to date an OC girl which could very well be true. The only time I kind of get intimidated are the "boutiques" in L.A., esp since I just want to go in to get ideas and not pay $300 for a T-shirt.  AND some boutiques want to to buzz the door so you can come in (saw this in NYC too).  Any L.A. girls want to comment?  I haven't been to Lisa Kline, Madison, or Fred Segal yet just cuz I think they would be uber snobs?
