I started using bare minerals in december when sephora started selling the complexion perfect kit and I love it! That is the start up kit I would suggest because it is a great deal at $60. BTW, I still am using my first kit....it really lasts a long time. HTH! And if you have any other questions I'll be happy to answer them as best I can.
Whne I used BE, I started with the foundation itself and then got the mineral veil as well. I already owned a kabuki brush so I didn't need to invest in one.
I think it's plenty nice, but it made me look too mattified when I first put it on. With mineral makeup, you have to spritz you skin periodically with a mist of water to keep it hydrated. I found that to be a PITA so I honestly prefer to use concealer and Giorgio Armani Slik Powder foundation which allows my skin's natural dewyness to show through better.
I love Bare Escentuals and could tell you to try a lot of stuff. I'd start with the mineral foundation and a brush. You can get the set (foundation and brush) on QVC that way you don't have to buy them seperate.
