My bf took a position as a landman today. As some of you guys know I took a position in NW Arkansas as an Industrial Engineer. I was already moving but would have only been 3.5 hrs away from where we both currently live. From my understanding so far a landman position takes you to places like Wyoming for up to a year at a time. I was wondering if any of you had an experience with bfs, husbands, dads, brothers, etc in this field. I am really nervous because i *hate* long distance relationships and thought since he was going to be where we both are currently I would see him all the time bc he could come up on weekends and I will be down here seeing my family all the time. Argg. Someone reassure me about this job!! Maybe this should be in the relationship section!!!

Ok, I don't know what a Landman is. But I have been in a long distance relationship for 3 years and I hate it everyday more and more. But I do know that someday we will get to be closer together.
More to the point, if the job allows him to make more money, that means that he will be able to come see you often (because he has the money to). So that can be a brightside amidst all of this.
If you want it to work out, it will. Only you will know though.
