Too dark for summer?

I have dark brown hair w/ red color blocks (crayon color red- not like carrot top red). My roots are starting to show and I need the red touched up. I can't get into my colorist for about 2 weeks and I really need it done. I am thinking of doing it myself. I have touched it up before, so I am not nervous about that. I was wondering if the red and brown are too dark for summer.

I was also thinking of going w/ another color instead of red- like maybe an oragne or pink.

Any thoughts?

I wish I could have your current hair color...sadly it won't fly at my work.


I like the idea of going pink for summer. I think it would be awesome as long as you're not working in a professional environment.

I work in a vet's office, so I don't think it will be a problem. If I came in w/ a green mohawk then it might, but the pink should be fine.

Ryanj, I just did something similar to what you have with my color (may be my red is a bit darker than yours), and I love it. Don't think it's too dark for summer!


And the pink idea is genius!


Whish I could do that too, but I got 2 tattoos and showing up at work with them and pink-striped hair would probably cause some "interesting" reaction...


gawd, now I am wondering if they (mostly male coworkers here) would notice...

on my last visit with my stylist i had her put red (crayon red) panels in my golden blonde hair that has platinum chunks through it.  it was really fun... i would say going pink would be fun for summer...


post some pics afterwards!  i would love to see what it loos like!
