I am desperately in love, but at $395, a bit hard to swallow right now. Do you think shopkitson.com will ever put these on sale? And what do you guys think of the comfort/quality of Jill Stuart (and sizing too- this site only has them in whole sizes?). And how funny is it that they mispelled the designer's name in the description?!
i own three pairs of jill stuart shoes and i really like them all. the quality of the shoe is really good. they are made in italy and it shows. the materials are always high quality and i find them very comfortable. i have a pair of 5" slides that would seriously be killer normally, but they put this ingenious little pad held by elastic to decrease the arche on your foot... so that the ball of your foot is flatter than it would normally be in a shoe of that height. hard to explain, but anyway, i can actually walk in these.
to be honest, (don't hate me for saying this), i am kinda suprprised that jill stuart shoes remain to be in the $300's. as most shoes have sky-rocketed in price thanks to the declining value of the dollar... they have remained in high 200's low 300's for years now.
you should track them at the jill stuart store. i have gotten skirts for $20, $30.
Thanks for the input, dot! I'm happy to hear they're comfy and good quality- I have bought, over the years, too many pairs of beautiful, expensive shoes that I find difficult to walk in or that haven't held up as well as they probably should for the price. You're right tho about the value of the dollar- I was just reading an article (can't remember where?) about how designers are getting worried that US consumers won't be willing to pay the increased price tags.
I ran the Jill Stuart store in NYC yesterday and, weirdly, the cost of the shoe was actually more than it was on shopkitson, but I'm gonna wait a bit and see if they go on sale or if, after a waiting period, I still feel I absolutely must have them.
In your experience, how have you found the sizing on them? I'm a 8.5 US, but in most European designers (Manolo, Prada, etc.), I'm a 39. Would I probably be a 9 in Jill Stuart? Thanks again for the info!
ohhhhhhhhh i forgot to write about the sizing. these shoes run SMALL! the smallest shoes ever.
i wear a 6 in most shoes. 5.5 in prada, miumiu. jill stuart i wear at LEAST at 7. i haven't bought a pair in a few years, but unless they changed manufacturers.. it should be about the same. i would definitely size at least a half size up.
