I would definately charge her the extra amount, that's too much to be out. If you want a faster way of talking to her, call her. You should be able to get her phone number thru her contact info on ebay. That way you can explain it to her. Hope it all works out!

I tried calling her. No answer. Thanks so much for the response!!!! I am doing her a favor and i don't want to be out $25 because of it (eventhough i made $20 off the dress ).

I just didn't know if I could charge her more since I already gave her the invoice. I'll have them hold the package until I get confirmation from her.

one more question. i called her, left a message, and e-mailed her. what should i do if she doesn't respond? she already paid me. should i send it and hope that she will pay me the $24? or should i not send it until she answers me question? sorry it's my first e-bay sale and i didn't expect this whole "issue".

WOw, it sucks you are in a sticky situation because of some incompetent fool at UPS. You definately can't lose money on the deal though. It was a mistake in billing, so you re-billed her. If she doesn't respond, then there isn't anything you can do. Either refund the difference and ship her the dress as stated in your sale policy, or wait for her response. Good luck.

the nerve of that lady. she just called and said that she wouldn't pay the extra. yelled at me on the phone for doing her a favor! i am sending it fedex overnight. is there anyway that i can make sure that she keeps it, i have no refunds on my auctions. she already paid me. i am shipping it overnight to her fedex and she better not refuse the package. i am sooo mad right now!!!

I think I may be confused here. Did she ask you to send it via a more expensive carrier and you obliged, or were you misquoted the price by the mailing company?

she asked me to send it ups overnight. last night i went to fedex because it was open to get a price quote after i saw it would be $59 ups website. fedex said it would be $35. i charged her $35 so she would pay me last night so i could send it to her today. remember, these are not my terms, merely doing her a favor. also, so did bin without contacting me before hand to see if i would do overnight to her.

well today, when i went to ups, i figured it must be the same as fedex, i was wrong. it was $59 (with her payment she said please send it overnight ups). so i paid for it. but had them hold it there. i contacted her to let her know. she called me back yelling at ME!!! um hello?! who's doing who the favor. she then says she won't pay it. to refund the money and auction it again. i said no. i will send it fedex for 35 which are the terms that we agreed on last night. if she refuses the package or leaves negative feedback i will be sooo mad!!! who buys their WEDDING dress from ebay and won't pay $24 extra bucks for shipping. she then tells me that i have the nerve to be calling her, that's she's 52 she doesn't have time for this, etc...hello, she called me last night and i worked a 12 hour shift last night! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!!! this is when i am supposed to be sleeping. it's a good thing i don't work tonight.

what a great first ebay experience. i even put a thank you card in the box and said have a good wedding!!!

does anybody know if she refusea the package, what will happen? i am not refunding her money after all of that! she will be getting it according to our agreed upon terms after three trips to the shipping places!!!

Oh this sucks. If she already paid for it and paid for the extra FedEx shipping I would ship it through FedEx and move on. If she fights you I would go through ebay and let them deal with it all. You are doing her a favor by shipping it through a faster means. I sure as hell wouldn't do it UPS if she had the nerve to yell at you about all of this. It isn't your fault.

what a nightmare!!
I have sold a lot of ebay and learned after a "bad Coach luggage overnight experience -- do me a favor, PLEASE" that the answer is no. I only go to the post office --- no express, UPS or fedex or fast shipping-- you always get screwed and the person gets pissed.

the nicer you are, I swear it comes back to bite you.

I'm glad you stuck to your guns and shipped it via Fed Ex. She can live with the consequences since she wasn't willing to pay for the method she requested. Hopefully, this will get resolved quickly for you. Maybe she will just accept the package and you can wipe your hands clean.

thanks so much girls. i needed to hear that i was in the right (since i've never sold through e-bay before). i did all of that during my "lunch break" at 2am from the hospital. it was so frustrating to do it this morning as well, when i should have been sleeping!!! then to get yelled at!!! i am not accepting the dress back. she is going to take it and she is going to like it! it just sucks cuz it was such a bad first experience, but i definitely learned my lesson. the nicer you are, the more it comes back to bite you in the arse (i've learned this lesson soooooo many times, especially picking up shifts at the hospital for people...but that's another post).

i really appreciate the posts, i'm sure i will post again with questions if i ever ebay again. also, i will post if i have anything nice to offer, this was a nasty beaded dress! no ST girl would wear (i wouldn't do that to you girls).

I hope this experience doesn't cause you to never sell on ebay again. I have sold lots of stuff, and every once in a blue moon I get a crazy, but for the most part I find people very reasonable. I still think this is the best verbage on any post I've ever seen. I keep saying I am going to add something like this to mine:

I WON'T Deal with Jerks, if your miserable, Mean, nasty, Rude please bid on someone else's auctions, I just don't need the headache and I don't want to work with people that don't know how to treat others ! I am a real person, not a robot & this is not a warehouse or store. I like to keep things nice and easy for me and you, Ebay should be fun, I want you to be happy and I want to stay sane, LOL !

I just thought that was great.

I'm praying that I don't get a package from the evil lady this week. I've calmed down a lot, but I still think it's awful that she treated me like dirt when I was doing her the favor. She didn't follow my terms by contacting me with questions beforehand. You don't BIN without checking first to see if it can be overnighted! I sent it to her with Fedex which was $38, got refunded from UPS, but put the UPS receipt in her package so she knew that I wasn't BSing her. Also, I'm not even worried about feedback from this lady, i'm not sending her any, and i'm not asking her to send me any.

Max always cheers me up, but then I thought about how this lady is going to have the worst karma and I'm going to have the best!! I love the fact that this is for her wedding because what a perfect time to have terrible karma!!! Also, she must just be an evil person in general, because bad karma probably was the reason her wedding dress was stolen from the dry cleaners in the first place!

What a way to start your first ebay selling!!!

I am sure that her wedding was this weekend and she probably only requested it be from ups vs. somewhere else b/c she is familiar with them. Who knows. Karma obviously got her. I think you are safe now since the weekend is over. You know only have a place to go up from verus down. So it should get better from no on!
