I noticed that there are a ton of actors in it. What's it about?

ya, i was super suprised at all the big names in it (don cheadle, matt dillon, ryan phillippe, sandra bullock, ludacris, brendan fraser and a million more i can't think of off the top of my head). as far as what it's about, i'd say stereotypes. it really is a thought provoking movie & quite emotional (i cried, but then again i cry at every movie, even the wedding planner!).

I liked this movie, too. It's so interesting to see how everything fits together. It really made me think about all the stuff (concerning racisim and stereotyping) that happens on so many different levels and among people of all races. Sometimes it's totally blatant and sometimes we're not even aware that it's happening. Anyway, this movie was very well done and thought provoking.

It was ok, but overall, not a must see. A bit of a thinker.

I think it was hyped up a little. I don't know, maybe it was the high expectations from the great reviews (like a "Critic's Choice" in People), but I wasn't so impressed. I got the feeling it was kind of LA specific (besides from the fact that it was filmed there), because IMO life is a little different out here on the East coast.

We went to a matinee and I am glad, because I don't think it was worth full price.

ah, that may be the difference then... for me i had barely heard of it & i even forgot that i had seen commercials for it until i started watching the movie! i think that was a benefit cuz i tend not to like movies that are overhyped either. also, i live in LA & grew up in the Valley (San Fernando Valley, where the movie was mostly based) so the movie especially hit home for me. i always wonder about stuff like that, like "the OC" is pretty familiar to me, but i wonder about people in other states & if they even care (i guess they do cuz it has good ratings).

I saw this today and LOVED it! Michael Pena is my new boyfriend

The cinematography and score were so good, I loved Tony Danza's cameo 'cause he was so un-"Tony"-like. It was cool to see Sandra Bullock as a cranky character, Don Cheadle is absolutely superb, and I love the device of intertwining stories. I didn't really buy Matt Dillon as a slimeball. but I highly recommend
