I have been lusting after these shoes for a while- and they are on sale now. I think the neutral color makes them practical for now and into the fall- but at around $200 final sale, i need more opinions (the wedge is 3" high)
any thoughts? are they too trendy/kitchy to be worth it?
btw- i currently live in ballet flats and flip flops......feeling like i need another, grown up choice for everyday wear....
For a $200 final-sale price, I think you need to really look at your closet and make sure that you have enough outfits to wear with them. For that price, they really need to work with more than just one or two items.
Personally, however, I just don't see them as being something that can be worn more than once a week or as an everyday shoe. I think it's the tassel that's throwing off the "everyday" factor for me. They are really great though....!

Personally, I'm not feeling them at all. If you are looking for a versatile shoe, honestly, for $200 I think you could do a lot better. To me, a practical shoe is one that I can reach into my closet any morning and make it work with almost any outfit.
What about something like these? All from shoes.com
hey - if you love them, get them. I can see them being versatile. they would go with pants mainly in my opinion. and gray pretty much goes with everything. as everyday shoes, no, but being versatile color-wise, I would say sure.

Depends on the rest of your closet. If you have neutrals and a lot of classic pieces with not much embellishment to "compete" with the details on the shoes, then I think you could wear them with a lot.
I see them with skirts and dresses, not pants - the tassels and kiltie flap would get caught in pant legs.
I'm not really into them myself. Too much going on.
The shoes are AWESOME!!! Would get them myself if could afford...Look very much like Anthropologie style. Anyway, to my personal opinion, very multi faceted, for different looks, colors, can take them from day to night, seem comfortable & look way more unique/designer boutique style as opposed to other suggested ( although very attractive) options here in the post. I'd get them!
wow- thanks so much for all of the replies everyone!
My clothes are modern classics (read: kinda boring, but tailored) in solid colors, and mostly pants- thats why I figured i would get a lot of wear out of those shoes... as well as play outside of my comfort zone.
I think that if the shoes weren't final sale, I would order them, then try them on with a bunch of my clothes to see if they are truly as versatile as I believe they would be......but since they are- I will have to stalk them on ebay for the rest of eternity.....sigh....rachel comey......
