I am looking for something to help my makeup last longer, by the end of the day my foundation looks patchy and its gone from my nose and chin. I have fairly normal-dry skin.
I've tried using a compact to touch up during the day but I find it to be a bit cakey and I end up forgetting to do it most of the time.
I love Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion so I thought maybe a foundation primer would work for me. Does anyone have any they like?
The only stipulation is it can be drugstore or Sephora and not Bare Escentuals/mineral makeup.
Also, has anyone tried the Sephora brand "Tricks of the Trade" Perfection Primer?
A primer will definitely do the trick! The Sephora brand is actually really good. Actually you can use Monistat anti-chafing cream as a primer, seriously it works like a mofo.
Smashbox makes a good primer. I've used both the regular one and the bronzer one. I have not tried their color correcting ones though. I have tried Laura Geller and Laura Mercier and don't care for their primer products.
I LOVE Sephora's eye primer, so I have to imagine that their perfection primer is good.
Tati, primer makes your foundation last longer, and also helps fill fine lines and helps make up go on more smoothly over super dry skin.
Yeah - Smashbox primer is good and I think generally the most popular. It would be nice if the Sephora one is just as good or better; I assume it is less expensive.
I use Philosophy's The Present primer and I love it. It leaves my skin almost velvety and without the sheen that Smashbox leaves on me. It's $25 but the tube lasts me most of the year since you use such a small amount.
If you love the Urban Decay Eye Potion, then I would try the new Urban Decay primers for the face. One helps to brighten and one helps to mattify oily pores. Just a suggestion...

I read a ton of reviews of Monistat on another board and people rave, rave, rave about it as a primer! I haven't tried it but absolutely would if I thought I needed a primer - it's cheap too! I think it contains silicone, which is a primary ingredient of a lot of primers.

Ditto this - its the same ingredients but I believe the Monistat one is less irritating and pore clogging. I've tried em both but only on special occasions (the Smashbox one had a tendency to give me those horrible, 3-month cysts if I used it more than once).
Metric, can I ask what KIND of foundation are you using? powder, liquid, etc?

I use NARS Balanced foundation liquid with a little bit of Cover Girl powder to set it. During the winter its fine but now that its hot, my makeup melts.
I have tried a lot of them. I like Smashbox, but I love the Monistat anti-chafing cream. Yu can get it from Target for cheaper than CVS or Walgreens around here. I think I paid $5.99 for a tube that will more than likely last over a year. I use it every day no matter what kind of foundation I am using; both liquid and powder. Great product.
okay, well if the monistat doesnt work out, i HIGHLY recommend make up forever's "mist and fix"...it's a lightweight spray, works all day, and doesn't make you break out!
