one of the 11th graders at the school where I work is roughly 55% BODY FAT!!!!! WTF????? How does one, at age 17, get that way? And yesterday there were mozzarella sticks for lunch, and she had like 20-NO LIE-stacked on her plate, plus 2 pizza bagels, and made a m. stick sandwich w/ them. I almost threw up!
It makes my Fritos addiction look like nothing special.

that makes me sad. maybe someone can take a special interest in her.. i assume that she probably doesn't have alot of friends and probably finds food comforting.
I agree with Crystal, I wonder what her parents are doing. I feel really bad for her.
Sometimes people don't know what they are doing to themselves, not only from an esthetic point of view, but also in terms of health. Do you think someone could explain her the basics of good nutrition and exercise for good health? Chances are, at that weight even a minor caloric restriction (like 15 stiks instead of 20) could cause weight loss, and weight loss (even if it's only water at the beginning) could encourage her to keep eating less.
I'm not her advisor so I don't know much about her home life, but here at school she has a decent amount of friends-she's never alone. And her attittude is so sucky that I know I personally cannot find it in myself to lend a hand. But it is sad, and I do wonder why her parents have let it go this far. Chubby or fat is one thing, grossly obese is another, and I think it's neglectful and social services should get involved! But I wonder if it's my place to say so? I don't know the laws in NJ...

I know exactly how you feel. I don't understand how people who are overweight can continue to eat anything they want. If I was in their position I would try to lose those extra pounds in a jiffy. I'm glad the government approves my weight! LoL
