So my company has a lovely little feature on our internal website called "email a concern" which allows staff to send HR anonymous emails to tattle on other staff members. It has its place, but for the most part, it gets ridiculously catty.
Today I was doing some work on my boss' computer (I am a personal assistant so I have his permission to access anything and everything, I wasn't snooping) and I saw one of these anonymous emails about me. So of course I read it.
About a quarter of our staff use yoga balls instead of chairs, myself and my boss included. The email said that when I sit at my desk on my ball, my butt sticks out and they don't think that the company should have to look at my ass in the air all day.
How HUMILIATING. This anon email got sent to my boss the CEO, our CFO, our Vice President and the HR Manager. Lovely.
I know this was just someone being mean because I've very conscious about what I wear to work, I don't wear low-riding pants or have my undies hanging out. I'm embarrassed that my CFO and VP had to read an email about my posterior. Gahhh!
I doubt my boss will say anything about it, he'd be too embarrassed to. I just don't know how these things get sent out. Its just horrible, what a mean thing to do.
omg omg omg omg! you should see if you can cozy up to IT and find out who sent it! not that it matters but whoever sent it must be mighty jealous of your butt!

ITA!
Geez, anonymity really brings out the A-holes in some people. Whomever it was, the whole complaint makes them look bad for the gratuitous and personal detail they gave. If they have a problem with the way anyone's butt looks in the air, there was no need to single you out, they should have just wrote that they didn't like the yoga balls because they found them distracting or suggestive or whatever, in general.
How rude...

^^ ITA. There were so many ways to complain that wouldn't make the writer look like a total creep.
Maybe you can counter with an anonymous email that you feel a sexual harassment seminar is in order because you don't think it's appropriate for people to be ogling your body in the workplace.
Its got to be a girl - Ive never heard of a man complaining about seeing a woman's butt in the air.
So true! Look around your office and see who has the worst butt. That's your girl.
lololololol Boots, but that is horrible Metric. I agree with Blink, why couldn't the complaint have been more general since several people use them? I would wear underwear that says Looks good doesn't it? on the back.
I know it hurts, when someone does it TO YOU. Well, on the bright side, they didn't comment on the ass, just on its being hanging in the air...well, someone has time to write that....We all comment about people, I myself is a judgmental b...aby, anyway, to hell with them!
If the biggest thing this person can complain about is seeing someone's butt on a yoga ball versus a regular chair things must be going really great at your job!
