Has anyone tried this? I've seen a couple ads for it and I'm intrigued (seems so easy! hurrah!), but part of me thinks it might not work very well...

I've been wondering the same thing.

Yana- thanks. I was curious about this product too, but Nair has never really worked for me in the past.

I've used Nair in the past and I usually end up with pink, irritated skin, and the hair doesn't even come off entirely. This is going to sound really weird but have you ever heard of stuff called Magic Cream? Its usually in the men's shaving aisle meant for African American beards. Someone told me about it and for $2 I figured I'd try it. The only thing that sucks is its a powder that you mix with water and it smells bad, IMO. But it really gets the hair off without irritating skin (I tried it in some very sensitive areas).

I love Magic cream! I use in my "bikini zone" and it is fantastic. But I thought doing it on my whole leg would be kind of a pain, and more hassle than shaving (and the hassle is really what I was hoping to avoid with the shower-off nair)

Is this Magic Cream a shaving lotion or like Nair? I always irritate my bikini area and would love an alternative.

i've tried both the nair spray on and the sally hansen spray on and both worked ok, but did miss a few hairs here and there. i used the little rubber scraper that i got with the nair bottle and it seemed to work alright. now i'm using the nair lotion, which you smear on and then scrape off. it's a pain, since the lotion is stinky, but i love that i can go almost a week before i need to do it again.
as for the redness/skin irritation: maybe you girls are leaving it on too long? i think the max is 6 or 8 minutes. make sure you read the label closely to see what the time limit is. you might also try using ones made for sensitive skin.
i used veet mousse exclusively for 2 years but they stopped making it! boo hiss

(ETA: i have light blonde hair, which might be why it works better for me. it may not work as good for those with thicker, darker hair.)

Boots - it's more like nair. It's a powder but when you mix it up with water, you smear it on your hair, wait like 7 min, then scrape it off (I use an old credit card, works better than anything else I've tried with it)

Ditto re the credit card.

I seriously have very sensitive skin and the Magic Cream didn't burn or leave red spots on my bikini area.  The only thing that majorly sucks is the smell since I don't have a window in my bathroom.

Usually its in the shaving aisle of the drug store. I think its marketed to African American males so check that "section" usually at the bottom of the men's shaving stuff.
