How sad. He was so talented, its too bad he turned into such a wing nut.

I'm so sad. He was my first celebrity crush. My mom says when I was about three years old I would run over and kiss the TV whenever he came on.

I can't believe it, I'm in shock. I mean, Farrah Fawcett's death is also sad, but it was kind of expected since we all knew she was sick. MJ's was sudden, which is always going to be more shocking.

MTV is playing constant videos of his now too

I feel sad, mostly because of how the last years of his life have been.

SO sad. I feel like a part of my childhood is gone.

I really think MJ to our generation was like Elvis. I wasn't even a huge Michael Jackson fan growing up, but his songs are woven throughout my entire childhood. Very sad. It's weird too--I've felt a mixture of sadness and pity for him since he died. Setting aside the pedophilia accusations, he was still a deeply disturbed person and appeared to live a pretty lonely existence, which, no matter who you are or how famous, is a very sad thing.

I agree with this 100%.
