Um, okay. I was thinking lunch and a shirt of some sort? (She recently lost a lot of weight - hello? plastic surgery? so I'd like to get her something stylish.) I love my mom and all but she's got way more money than me so she can buy herself a spa day!

Yeah, she has way more money than I do to and techinaclly it is her money that is buying the spa weekend. My dad actually paid for it, but his money is her money and vice versa.

A Mervyns (yuck) gift card $50. Robinsons Gift card $50. A spa gift card $100. My Bro and Sisters and I decided to split it all and gift it to her from all of us> My spoiled brother only has to pitch in $20 and we are each pitching in $60.
WARNING: Hideous, tacky gift ahead. Cover your eyes if you can't handly ugly jewelry.
My Mom has been wanting one of these necklaces for years. My sis and I have avoided giving her one because we think they are so awful. However, it's her neck and I know she'll love it. We are getting her a necklace with a little birthstone girl representing each of us...

hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Doesn't every mom and grandma want one of those? Why, why, why??? My sil gave those to my grandmother and mother a couple years ago for xmas. I think they're so horrid and everytime my mom wears it, I roll my eyes. But my sil lacks a sense of style herself so she probably liked them.
I hope I don't like things like this when I get old... even if I do have two beautiful daughters who somehow resemble little circles with triangles attached.
All that said, I think it's a great gift because you just KNOW your mom is going to flip out over it! It's very sweet of you.
hmm...i just realized how boring sounding my gift is--a dvd/vcr combo to go w/ the tv i got her for her birthday. but oh well, it's what she wants :) oh and flowers and a card of course.
i'm getting my mom a GC to the movies cuz the one thing i think she wants is to spend time w/ me so i figured since i can't package time i would give her something that shows i plan to spend time with her. not very elaborate or interesting, but i don't have a whole lot of money so i think she understands.
I got my mom a braclet that you put pics in. I went through a ton of pics (including baby pics)and found some. I had them reduced to black and white so it would look better than a ton of color pics.

my mom is the most generous person ever(but isn't everyone's mom?!)....so of course i'm giving her a gift that she "gives". i'm giving a donation in her name. she says she doesn't need anything...so i figured that's the best for her.
last year i was pretty proud of my gift...i took her graduation picture from nursing school and put it in a side by side frame of my graduation picture from nursing school....let's just say, the flood gates opened!

I sent her a package with Bath & Body lotion & bubble bath, a great book where you record your personal history for your descendants, and a personalized bracelet - it had 6 photo slots & I put pixs of my sister & I & our kids -
My mom recently lost her Dad & in that process we have learned so much about my Grandmother that no one knew. So I figured that book would eliminate the same thing happening to us. It prompts them to talk about their life as a child, their first love, first kiss, first car, etc etc. I cried when I bought it & she is SOOOOO going to cry.
This is the first year I have not been home for Mother's Day & I am kinda broke, so I had to pull out sentimental gifts - YUCK. But it will be good!!!! I hope.....
