My dad is getting married a week from this Saturday to a wonderful woman that I've grown close to.
Our church is hosting a "tea" to bless her and my dad with a weekend away or something (for this I will probably get her a nice card and write a nice note). The following day her family is hosting a shower for her after their mother's day luncheon. I'm not exactly sure what to get her, although I know there is a bracelet she wants that she asked me to pick up for her, so instead of letting her pay for it, I may just get it and wrap it up.
Question: Are these ideas good? What do you give a 47 year old woman who has everything she needs for the house, has tons of clothes and jewlery and if she wants something, she goes out and gets it? I'd like to keep it under $30....although I would go over a little.
I'm also wondering what to get my dad and her for the WEDDING itself. I thought maybe I'd slip some sparkling grape juice into their suitcases. They're going to Washington DC for a few days and staying at The Watergate Hotel (any ideas for gifts relating to that?)
Thank you all so much for any tips...I knew you wedding gals may have an idea or somewhere I could get started.
For my parents 30 anniversary my sisters and i sent them a dozen roses and a cake to be delivered to their hotel room in Italy, They still talk about it to this day
Oh I do like the idea of having something delivered to the hotel! I think that is great! I think the bracelet might be cute, or maybe you could pick her up some earrings that coordinate? I don't think you can ever have enough jewelry.
Yes, I think having something sent to the hotel is so nice.
My husband and I eloped in Hawaii. My friend, who knew we were going to get married during our trip, had an awesome basket w/ champagne, fruits, candies, and a gc to the hotel's restuarant sent to our hotel room. We loved it!
