I like wrought iron beds in theory - but can't seem to find any truly pretty ones ...
so i've decided to go with wood -
i'd like an old-looking four poster in a really dark finish ... but can't seem to find anything that's not totally out of my price range (would like to spend $600 or under)
i'll probably have to go searching the estate sales but would like to see if i can find anything new - - -
get the bombay company one, i got it in a queen on sale and i can't remember exactly how much the bed was but i got it and a dresser and a mirror for about a thousand. hth!
ok, in my bedroom, the bed is pushed against the wall so i only need one nightstand--i got the hepplewhite bowfront chest w/ the pull-out shelf. it has drawers and a "shelf" you can pull out that gives space for setting things on. i think it was like $200? i got it after the bed, dresser and mirror because i remember having to save up for it. but it is really nice, good size and sturdy and pretty at the same time. oh and they have the bigger bowfront chest online i think--i have that as well with the most beautifully carved mirror on top of it. and i have a full length mirror on the other side of the bed. anyway, i guess the short answer to your question is yes they have nightstands/small dressers etc. that go w/ the bed perfectly but you have to look. and things are ALWAYS on sale there so never ever buy anything full price.
oh and nope, i can't tell at all which part isn't wood, i'm thinking that description means parts of it aren't solid wood, but i really have no idea what those parts are. it is a totally awesome solid looking bed. i've seen beds just like it at ethan allen for 3 times the price and i honestly can't tell the difference. the only thing is it doesn't come in the california king size, the biggest size is just a regular king.
anyway, i don't feel like i explained everything very well at all, i wish i could just take a picture of my room and send it to you but alas i don't have a digital camera but feel free to ask me more q's--i will try to answer better next time!
It sounds beautiful! We're buying our bedroom set at the end of the year, so it's definitely on the list of contenders. I have a BC near me, so I'll have to go look (the husband is a drawer snob, so those will have to pass his test). Either way, it's like 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the ones we've been looking at! Thanks!
