Okay, I am not having a fun time with this at all. My hair is a disaster! It's just not happy at all. I'm trying to stick it out a little while longer, but I'm not sure how much more I can take of this mop head.

Yeah, it seemed promising at first but didn't work out for me either.  I went back to my regular routine several days ago.

Thank you Kelly! I'm two weeks in and no problems so far. My hair feels good and looks good. I don't use any products other than conditioner when I wash so I'm not having any issues with build up.

Its super dry where I live so I don't have any humidity issues either. Its really working for me.

I want an update! How's it going? Who's still doing this?

me! I haven't shampooed in probably 2 months? I haven't noticed a huge change to my hair but I think I have a bit less breakage which was a massive problem before.

I still have to wash every day though or else my hair is really flat and limp by day 2.

I'm sticking with it and have no reason to use shampoo.

I am, but I'm struggling. I read on the Naturally Curly boards that fine hair usually needs protein, so I started using a conditioner with protein in it (Suave Naturals Coconut) and I did a deep conditioning treatment because I thought "why the hell not?" but ever since those two things, my hair has been a nightmare. It's SUPER tangly and takes 10 minutes to comb through. I asked the board and they said maybe it was the protein that was doing it - maybe my hair doesn't like it - so I've been using a non-sulfate shampoo once or twice a week for the past couple weeks trying to get the protein out if I can.

But once I have finally combed through it, my hair looks great - wavier than it's ever been! I love it! And I don't know if my hair could get greasy if it wanted to. I recently went 4 days without cleaning it in any way or even getting it wet. My waves had fallen out by the end of the second day and I wore my hair up for a couple days, but it still looked clean and pretty and SHINY! The only reason I ended up washing it today is because I wanted my waves back, not because it needed it.

I've been having issues with my hair lately though, and my derm suggested that I start using Nizoral a couple times a week. It's a dandruff shampoo and although I don't have dandruff and she can't see any scalp issues, she said that if there's some skin problem she can't see, it might clear it up. Which all sounds good except...Nizoral has sulfates in it. So I might have to jump off the CG bandwagon until I figure out my hair problems cry.gif

I have been doing it, but I cut off all my hair.

I tried a shampoo with a lot of sulfate in it and my scalp got really teed-off.

I am doing mostly curlygirl, but I'll shampoo with sulfates if I have used styling products that contain silicones.
