The Dreaded SAT's

I have to take the SAT's for the second time tomorrow morning around 8.

I was wondering how you all did on them?

And if you have any tricks or tips up your sleeves?

I know study, study, study....but I cant find that helpful since I dont know what is on the test...

Did any of you get a perfect score?

I didn't study when I took the SATs, so I don't really know what you're covering, but it seems to me like the best thing you could do now is to just relax, get a lot of sleep and a good breakfast. If this is your second time taking them, I assume you've already got a lot of studying under your belt. I don't think you can do a lot more studying tonight that would benefit you more than relaxing and getting a clear head will! It might be a pain, but if I were you I wouldn't go out with your friends tonight! My parents didn't let me the night before the SAT and that was probably a good thing!

I didn't get a perfect score but mine was pretty well. I didn't stress out and I think that helped me focus.

It's been a few years....

If I remember correctly, it more of a test geared to see how you take tests and what kind of general skills you've learned through out high school. My advice is to get a good night's sleep tonight, eat sometime healthy for breakfast and try to relax. The more anxious you are, the more your mind will race while you're taking the tests.

Good luck!

Edit- Kelly, great minds think alike.smile

The one thing I hate about the test is that it is at 8 in the morning!

Personally, I think its unfair to the non-morning people.... :)
But really...what if someone was a really good test taker, but horrible at anything in the morning?

There should be a SAT at 4 in the afternoon.

I guess I would decide which of the two sections you're weakest in and focus on that. I don't think you can study per se, but maybe you can "exercise" the mental muscles you'll need through some online practice quizzes or library workbooks.

This is a good point. Like I said, I didn't study or do any of the prep courses, but from what I understand, those courses pretty much help you anticipate what will be on the test, and teach you little "tricks" for figuring out the answers. The reality is that your whole high school career has been "studying" for this, so there's not much you can do in one night to make a huge change.

I HATE SAT's and GRE and any other standardized test. When you study all you are studying for is how to take that type of test (ex: tricks). I did horrible on mine, but I had a 3.9 GPA in school. In my case it shows nothing about my ability.
