Uncoated Aspirin?
Permalink Closed

I've been looking for uncoated aspirin for aspirin masks and homemade tendskin, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. I've tried using regular coated aspirin which doesn't dissolve (which should've been obvious but I was desperate). Where can I find this?

Have you tried Wal-Mart?  They carry a cheapy brand called equate and I believe that they have uncoated aspirin.  It's worth a try.

Isn't regular old Bayer uncoated?  And I could have sworn drugstores (or Wal-Mart, Target, etc.), sell their brand of ultra cheap asprin uncoated.  You'll probably have to look at off-brands.

Unfortunately, I don't live near a Wal-Mart. I've been checking Target and Walgreens everytime I go (including the cheap brands) but I can't find it for some reason.. argh.

For my aspirin masks I got a generic brand aspirin that says it has a micro thin coating. It seems to work okay, probably takes a bit longer to dissolve than uncoated. I have to crush them a bit to speed up the process. I couldn't find uncoated ones either!!

I'm unfamiliar with aspirin masks.  Do you just mash them together w/ water to form a paste?  What is it supposed to do?

Yep mash 5-6 tablets and put about a teaspoon of water in to make a mask.  Place on face for 5-10 minutes and wash off.  Suppose to make skin softer and help with acne.

I've only done it randomly once or twice so not sure about helping with acne but it does make your skin feel softer.

Aspirin in salicylic acid - which is one of the 2 major acne fighters that I know of (benzoyl peroxide is the other). So if you want to try just a concentrated acne mask, aspirin should work.
