free music?

i started downloading my music to Itunes yesterday in preparation for my birthday gift, which is the iPod Mini in PINK!!!!


the BF saw me and asked what i was doing and why i was buying music (i bought a couple of songs i wanted)  he told me i should download for free and then put it on itunes...


can i do that?  are there free music sites out there that aren't illegal?

I don't know of any free music downloading sites that are legal.  I mean you can do it and get away with it, but one thing to be aware of - they install Spyware on your computer, which is awful.  It clogs your computers w/terrible pop up ads and slows it down big time.  I got rid of my free service a long time ago, had a friend completely clean my system, and I'll never use it again.  I use iTunes now.  HTH!

thank you!  i think my BF was on crack when he said that to me...  i knew there weren't any legal free music sites!  i knew it!!!
