I need a really good lip moisturizer...
Permalink Closed

My lips are sooooo chapped. I have tried all the drugstore kinds (chapstick, carmex, aquaphor, vaseline, etc.) and none seem to work! My husband insists on sleeping with the ceiling fan on high every night so I know that is the culprit for my poor little chapped lips. I need something that is SUPER moisturizing. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

my favorite is blistex lip medex....it is really strong. You just need to reapply often initially, but it works really well.

Have you tried Vitamin A&D? It's for diaper rash so they keep it in the baby aisle but my mom always used to put it on my lips when I was little so they wouldn't get chapped.

Otherwise, Kiehl's tinted lip balm is super amazing. That's what I use now and my lips are never ever chapped.

I can't get enough of Burt's Bees lip balm. I use ut nightly. I also like Bodyshop's Lipscuff to help exfoliate off some of the dry skin. Also, Burts Bee's has these lip shimmers, and they feel just like the lip balm on your lip, but look like a gloss, because they have some color. I'm in love with the Raisin color.

I second the Burt's Bees. Great stuff.

I have tried it all, including burt's, which was too minty and didn't sink in enough for me.  The only one that really works for me, like really works, is Kiehl's baby lip balm.  It is $7.50 for a small white tube.  I have been through, like, 10.  It is kind of goopy and fades fast, but it is the only thing that works for me.  Another thing I would reccommend- consciously try getting 8 or more glasses of water a day.  Just do it for a couple of days and see what happens.  I know they say that drinking water doesn't make skin moist, yada yada, but when I was water-guzzling on my vacations I barely even needed chapstick.  It was so awesome (my lips are super super dry too)

I also use Burt's bees and I love it.  If you are looking for something that exfoliates as well as moisturizes I would suggest Laura Mercier's Lip silk--this stuff is amazing, no more flakes on my lips at the end of the day!

Have you tried Mary Kay's Satin Lips.

It's a two stepper, first an exfoliator, then a balm.
