What is the most expensive jewelry item you've bought?
I am a sucker for unique jewelry. I think I splurge on jewelry more than on shoes or purses (though I love shoes and purses too). I think the most I paid was 180$ for a necklace - a recent purchase that makes me feel kind of guilty...

this bracelet for $178, worth every penny to me because it is so lovely and unique. It looks like a mermaid bracelet (I have an obsession with mermaids!!) I would much rather have an awesome piece of jewelry design-wise then be dripping with diamonds. But I am always scared of losing my nice jewelry, so in a way, I try to avoid buying it so that I don't have to have that hanging over my head.
I also want these tentacle earrings like WHOA. $233
I could wear them both with my dream Rick Owens t-shirt:
I also bought these Les Nereides earrings in france for 68 euros and promptly broke the post off of one and lost the little rhinestone in it. DOH. I need to get them fixed because I LOVE them.
so pretty- the yellow part is leather. I saw them in a New York store for $135(it was in the Chelsea area and it was called Ibiza or Mystique or some sort of tropical place.)
i don't really own any jewelry. i only got my ears pierced last year and feel weighed down by jewelry alot of times.
probably the most i've ever spent was on an agent provocateur diamondite cuff! it's so crazy-blinged-out! it's baby pink and weighs a ton. but i love how it's so attention getting. :)
i'm like lilykind, i've never actually bought myself expensive jewelry. all my "good" jewelry has been given to me. and i don't really know how much it costs since almost all of it comes from my dad and he gets it in a foreign country. i only know the cost of one piece i have (earrings from my aunt) and they were $300 -- but i only know this b/c i was ghetto and went to the store to price them and see how much she spent.
I spent $400 on a pair of gold dangle-y earrings but I don't think I have anything else that even comes close to that in price.
Lynnie - I love that bracelet, and I also love Les Nereides as well. You should check eBay for that Rick Owens tee - there's a German or Swiss seller on there who sells a large (authentic) selection of his pieces. Love it, btw. Also check out Pegah Anvarian's Fall line - it's very Rock Owens-esque and not as pricey.

The most expensive piece of jewelery I have is my engagement ring....I did not buy it and i found out how much it cost when I had to call the insurance compnay with the appraisal..Brian told me not to worry about the money...he planned on me wearing it for the rest of my life and as long as it made me happy he did not are that he would be paying for it for years
all my good jewelry was given to me also, and i have no idea how much any of it is worth. i really only buy myself costume pieces, and i can't remember ever spending over $75-$100 on that.
only jewlery i bought myself was $600 for 2 loose pearls on my honeymoon so i can get a lariat made. i saw a few i liked while we were away but they were over $2000 and it was only $600 to get the pearls alone, so.....i'll update when i get the necklace made..i may have made a big mistake not buying the $2000 already made thing.
I haven't really bought any jewelry myself yet - i have far too many bills and such. But every special occasion day, my grandmother lets me select something from her collection (ranging from vintage costume to nice jewelry.
So far, I have a few faves (i'll post when my Internet is hooked up at home):
1) Authentic Ivory strand of beads necklace (like pearls but Ivory). Sooo cool since they are illegal now, and only one other person ever asked me if it was what they thought (she was right, and also one of the sharpest fashionistas I've ever known!)
2) strand of White Jade beaded necklace
3) pearl pins, necklaces, jade earrings, etc from my grandmother's collection. I also have a Favorite vintage ring I'll have to post.
For myself, I've bought:
1) Tiffany heart charm bracelet
2) a Lavendar Jade buddha (on a trip to Taiwan) that I had taken to a fit a ring and white gold chain (probably cost me about $150 total).
other than that, all my expensive stuff has been gifts. My most expensive items are probably from my parents. When I was in HS, my parents bought me a beautiful diamond/sapphire set (one piece per year for three years) that looks like this:
Collette --$30k?!? Holy Hannah you're a lucky girl!

I try to purchase one nice piece of jewelry for myself every year. One year it was a 6 mm white gold omega necklace and diamond slide (approx. $700), one year it was a John Hardy silver bracelet ($550), last year it was another white gold and diamond heart necklace ($300) - this year will be the year I buy my first piece of David Yurman jewelry. I have been lusting after one of his rings for years now...
the most expensive piece i own is my engagement ring (price tag will remain a secret) but the most expensive piece that i purchased for myself is this tiffany padlock necklace ($295):
i don't have a ton of jewelry and much of what i do have is vintage from my grandmothers or was a gift from my husband but i'm kinda-sorta-dying for these earrings: ($184)
My engagement ring which my fiance bought but when we get married our money is shared so it will be my money. I think it was about $10k but I am not sure
