I have know idea how I lived with out it- I LOVE IT! I had tivo and we changed to a tivo type thing that is offered by my cable company. We liked tivo-it was just easier to have everything on the cable bill. I would definatley say try it- you will love it.

I don't know how I lived w/out Tivo! I got it for my bday this year and it is the greatest thing ever made! I tape all my shows, so I never have to worry about missing anything. You can pause and rewind live TV, which is fantastic! If you really don't plan on taping a lot of shows, defintely just get the 40 hour box, which is the cheapest. Most places offer a $100 mail in rebate too, so it only costs you $100. I got mine at Best Buy. HTH!

I have this same thing through my cable company, it is called a DVR box (Basically is cable and a TIVO type thing in one box) I love it and it's only $10 more on my cable bill.

I love TIVO. I can't watch TV without it.

We only pay $5 a month for our service so it's a bummer your price would be more than double. I would be really wary about paying for a lifetime service. What if you move or change carriers; do you get a partial refund? I think if you sign up you should do it for the monthly rate, just in case.
