Okay, so my sister's wedding is a week from today. yikes. that's scary! Anyway, I am a BM and we are wearing the black dress (style) only in the color on the right... Here is a picture of me below, my question is, do you think a somewhat loose, curly chignon with my hair would be pretty? The wedding is at 3pm in a Catholic Church and the reception is at a country club.  I just dont want to out-do my sister with my hair.  She is doing hers half-up and curly.  Thoughts? (P.S. how awesome does the model in the taupe look?!)

okay, having serious issues w/ photobucket, D, or anyone else who is my friend on FB, you guys kno what i look like :)

Not sure what you look like, but it sounds pretty to me. Just dressy enough for a special occasion but nothing "too done." Love your dress!

I would suggest, but it is hard without knowing what you look like. If you're blonde, I think this style sounds really pretty. If you're a brunette, I might go with something sleeker.

For me, I like to keep my hair style soft and not fussy. The more complicated it is, the better the chance it'll look like hell by the end of the evening. Could you ask you sister what she thinks? Maybe even do a trail run one evening to make sure it's what you want. If you're having someone else do your hair the morning of the wedding, bring lots of pictures! I'm already collecting photos of the style I want the hairdresser to do for me for my brother's wedding Labor Day weekend (I'm a planner, what can I say?) Since I don't know the stylist, I want her to understand exactly what I mean when I describe the style I want. I'm also going to use the photos to clear the style with the bride first.

IMO a loose hairstyle with waves is going to fall flat throughout the day if you have straight hair.  Depending on the humidity, time of day etc, something like this might not hold up,  I'd fear.

It does sound pretty though, so maybe a stylist could get it to stay all day.  Here's some pics for inspiration.

My fave

Xtina, i know what you are saying...i have sideswept bangs, and really thick hair with a natural wave. I really like L.C.'s hair, but i would have my bangs, does she have a braid?

Hi!
Congrats on the wedding in the family!
I personally dislike fake things, so wouldn't go with chingnon but I love Xtinastyles's suggestions!
