i need to buy some type of comfortable shoe to wear for travelling - mainly for long (20 hour plus) overseas flights. in the past i've worn sneaks with no laces that are more for hanging out than working out by Teva, puma, and dkny. now, however, i'm thinking those shoes look frumpy on me. i can't find any pair of sneakers that don't look frumpy actually.
the only thing i can think of is converse - which i am close to buying - but i feel a little weird about it as i have never worn them before and i'm not sure if they are truly me.
can anyone suggest a cute sneaker?? i definitely don't want to wear my running shoes. i could wear flats on the plane, but i feel like sneaks might be better b/c of all the walking and lugging stuff around, etc. plus, i will be going to see ruins a lot in turkey adn skeans might be good for that.
what do you all wear on long flights? any ideas?? should i just go with converse??
I have a pair of shoes that might fit the bill. They are Rocket Dog and I got them from DSW last year, but I have seen similar ones there this season.
Picture the converse sneak, with the classic rubber over the toe, but in a ballet shoe cut, and instead of laces, it has a little bow at the corner by all the rubber. They are a tan velvet and are a little lower cut around the foot.
I can wear them walking around town for many hours and be comfortable.
I wear any sort of comfortable shoes I have, then take them off on the plane. I bring a clean pair socks with me and just wear the socks. My feet swell on long flights and I find this to be more comfortable. And if I have to get out of my seat for some reason, I just slip the shoes back on.
