Last spring a few FHers posted about a sunless tanning product - I think it was available on Purpleskirt - that you applied at night, and it would often make your skin look muddy/dirty - but in the morning it looked very realistic - brown rather than orange etc.? I seem to remember it might have been some kind of stain and was a very dark brown colour that freaked some people out.
Anyone? What was this?

It was definitely Fake Bake! It's still my favorite self-tanner. The color is soooooooo natural and brown, not at all orange. Unfortunately, it's alot of work to get on. I am loving how easy Jergens is! The benefit of Jergens is definitely no stains on the sheets!
But Fake Bake is very scary when it goes on! It's so muddy and brown but beautiful tan afterwards! I want to try the Fake Bake face!

I mean it wasn't really difficult. I guess I am just spoiled by the ease of Jergens! It's so dummy-proof! Fake Bake has this water-y-ish consistency that really requires alot of working in, but the result is definitely worth it. I like Jergens for everyday, but I am definitely going to use Fake Bake the weeks before I go to Puerto Rico (is it funny to get tan before a vacation?). Another awesome thing about Fake Bake is that it actually lasts a week, and I found that it doesn't "shave-off" like Neutrogena. It's definitely my favorite self-tanner for a really tanned, brown look. Jergens is nice to disguise my still winterish skin, but for tan it's FB for sure.
I have to try Fake Bake for face. I used regular Fake Bake on my face last year and it worked great.
I think I will mix a little with moisturizer and see if I can kill two birds with one stone and a)make it easier to apply and b)not get quite so dark at once. I need to slowly build up to a dark tan, if I go there at all. I'll do a test-spot somewhere hidden so just in case the ingredients react and turn me green it'll be OK.
Thanks for the advice...!
