Gas prices have shot up literally overnight here, and since I hadn't had to fill up for almost 3 weeks, I was totally shocked to see the prices!!! If you have a car, what did you pay at the pump last time you filled up? Where do you live?
I live in Spokane, WA and filled up for $2.36 a gallon last night - the cheapest in town by almost $0.13! Most other places are at about $2.49 right now . . .

Oh I just about cried tuesday over the price of gas. It is killing my bank account. I really can't go shopping or afford anything right now while working my student worker job and going to school. I don't know what I'm going to do this summer. I have to find a job since my real job doesn't start until mid-August plus I have to move!!
at Racetrack (cheapest place in town) I'm paying around $2.09 for unleaded. Walmart is the same also. It completely sucks. Took $30 to fill up my car the other day and I have a small grand am!!! I so want a hybrid next.
I live in Delaware and it's about 2.10 for unleaded. I have a Civic coupe and get like 33 MPG, which helps a lot but still sucks when you have to fill it up.

Last Monday, it was $2.17 for regular unleaded when I went to work in the morning. When I left at 5:30, it had jumped up to $2.29. Now it's back to $2.17, which, of course if AFTER I filled my car up with the $2.29 gas...Grrr..
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my parents for not allowing me to have my dream car when I first got my car: A Jeep Wrangler. It only gets 16 mpg. I have a Honda Civic, which is 31 mpg. If I had the Jeep, I'd probably be crying. Thanks Mom & Dad!
My bf's parents live in eastern europe and they are ridiculous. I read in Time magazine that the average price of gas in the Netherlands last week was $6.48. Venezula was $0.17!
In Chicago (suburbs i believe are cheaper) the gas was $2.50 for premium.
So I agree, we shouldn't complain too much when you look at the rest of the world.

In Mpls this weekend we're at $1.99 and I consider that a good deal. Sad, because not so long ago gas was like $0.99 a gallon. Okay so like 5 years ago, but still.

I know this is harsh, but I really don't care that much. I'm pretty hard core in my environmental views. I know tons of people who drive a few blocks to the grocery store or drive 2 miles to work when we have a perfectly good public transportation system. If this is what it takes for people to seek out alternatives, it's fine with me.
It is unfortunate that the price of most products will likely go up do to increased costs of shipping and transporting goods. I so wish our government would be more supportive of alternative fuels research.

Yikes! I'm glad I'm not at home. Just out of curiosity, where do you live in Seattle?

Maddie, I live on Capital Hill, but I was in Fremont and the U.Dist this weekend and it was the same there. It is about 20 cents cheaper outside the city, like near Southcenter Mall.
the mini needs super and i think i paid $2.40 for it the last time i filled up... the only time i really pay attention the price is when i have to pay for it. for work stuff- my company pays which is most of the time...
also- i notice only a slight change in total price at the end of everything. what used to be $20 to fill my tank is now $24-26... i, mean, really, whats 5 bucks in the long run?
