outfit for shower

Ok, so I'm looking for an outfit for a shower I'm helping host in two weeks. It's pretty casual, so I'm planning on wearing jeans with heels and a nice top. I was inspired by some posts I read and I put myself on a shopping ban, so I'm trying to spend as little money as possible... but I still want something new (just for the sake of getting something new). I was planning on going the silk cami/blazer route, but I want something fun and different. I've been eying this capelet from Anthropologie since I first saw it

so I was thinking of that with a beater, jeans, and these shoes I have



but is that okay for a shower? I can't decide if the capelet looks too winter-y. Opinions? The capelet is $98, and I LOVE IT, so I thought that if I splurged on that and wore other things I already own, I wouldn't be breaking the ban so bad.  Or do you think I should just get a cheap-o top from Forever 21 http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=Tops&product%5Fid=2020345245#     (in white) and a shrug or cardigan to go over it, since it will still be cool where I live. The shoes are almost my exact flesh tone, not quite the color they look in the picture, so I think they'll go fine with whatever tops I decide to wear. Please help me... and I'm very open to any more suggestions that anyone may have. Thanks!

I don't think the capelet looks too wintery, I think it is a very nice transition piece and even would be nice on cooler summer evenings.  I think the outfit will look great!  If you want to dress it up a bit, you could pair it with a silky cami instead of the beater.  A light green or a light aqua color would look fresh and springy with it.  Have fun!


PS I didn't look at the Forever21 link until just now, but that may be pretty under the capelet, as long as it isn't too hangy.  Hope that helps!

Oh my, that capelet is sooo pretty. I don't think it's too wintery at all because of the color and the fact that it's crochet. Your outfit sounds great. I love the shoes too.


I like your other outfit idea too, but I'm not sure about the f21 cami. I've seen it in real life, and it looks very cheap IMO. Maybe you can find a silk or rayon one or something.

I think that capelet is beautiful and would be perfection for a bridal shower.  I might start stalking that thing!
