I only have a shallow drawer, so I can't use those trays..plus the kids get into drawers all the time and that wouldn't work.
Currently I store all my makeup in seperate makeup bags that I have accumulated over the years from department store free giveaways. But I am finding that this isn't helping me "see" what I have in front of me often enough and I end up forgetting about certain items, then buying more, and having colors I don't use that I forget to trash just taking up space...I am way overdue to downsize and get organized.
I am thinking of buying a case from caboodles like this one, any other ideas?:

I haven't been as into varying my makeup routine lately, so I have only the everyday essentials in my shallow drawer. Everything else is in a basket underneath the sink.
I think the makeup case can be nice if you have a good place to store it and open it every time you do your makeup. My mom uses a small, clear plastic tub with a top that snaps on securely and has a handle. It's nice to be able to see through.
I have one like this in metal tone. It's packed to the brim with stuff I use left often, back up, etc. I love how organized it keeps me. I do keep my "daily stuff" in a soft train case stowed under the sink.
I don't have lots of makeup, and I store all of it in a shallow red basket on the counter in my bedroom. I have a very small bag at bf's house, too, will all the essentials. When in Buffalo, I used to have a wooden tray in the bathroom.

I have the metal one from caboodles too! It's great, I use it every single day.
