I am on salary my paycheck says 80 hours worked but I usually work from 8:45-6:00 or so sometimes less sometimes more usually take 30 minutes for lunch just depends.

my "contract hours" (when I have to be at work) are 7:30-2:30, with no lunch break per se. But most days, I work a lot more (sometimes from as early as 7a to as late as 10p, since I advise the newspaper).

My husband essentially works 9-5 though, and he never has to stay late. I think that's great. I have worked 9-5 jobs before, and I think I'd prefer that.

When I was working, it was 8-5. I was worked in Accounting and Investments but basically I was just your typical "office girl" and there was nothing to be really gained by working late.

My husband is a branch manager in a competitive numbers driven corporate environment. Everyone in his department is a workaholic and since there is a collections side the schedule varies, but on average he works about EIGHTY to NINETY hours a week. In his career, that's what it takes to move up, his goal is to make it to executive management before he turns 40.

Since I had the baby, I told him if he continues to work those kind of hours, I was never working again, period.

I am at work from 9-6ish, more often than not it's later than that. But before I go to work & after I get home, I check my e-mail from home and take care of things that I dont have time to do while I'm in the lab. Then there's my side job, but that doesn't count :)

I work 9 to 5:30. My whole office is on a 7.5 hour day and a 37.5 hour work week. I take an hour for lunch and everyone knows that at noon I am going to lunch. This is a far cry from my old job that I worked 9 - 6 at, barely ever took a lunch and often times work over time that may not have ended until 4 am to come back to work at 9 am. I did make some fat cash though.

The bf works 7:30 to 6, but his whole office is crazy like that. In sales it is all about the early bird catching the worm.
