how "out" are pointy toe boots??
Permalink Closed

i have some very narrow pointy toe boots that i wore last winter, but i didn't wear them this fall/winter b/c i feel like they are totally out of style now.  i really like them though b/c the leather is really nice, they have a low kitten heel and when they were in style they looked really good with trouser jeans (they are some random brand from macys).  but i hesitate to wear them now, so i have 2 questions about this:

(a) am i right that they are out of style?

(b) should i get rid of them?

(c)  is a "fat" pointy toe boot still okay??  what i mean by a fat pointy toe is that the tip comes to a small point but the rest of the boot is a bit more round.  hope i explained it okay.  i bought a pr of these from nine west recently for next fall actually and am hoping they are still in style.  i like them b/c they also have a low kitten heel (which i need b/c my feet are seriously damaged).  btw i need to buy ahead with shoes b/c i will be living overseas and would have to order online (which is hard for me with shoes) or buy locally (which could be expensive based on where i will be).

thanks for answering!!

I hope they are still stylish.  I have a pair on today.  But you know, even if they are slightly outdated, I still like them.  wink

I was never a big fan of really pointy toed shoes (or as my brothers call them, "witch shoes")  But that might just be because I'm kind of a klutz and I tend to trip over them going up the stairs.

I wouldn't get rid of your boots if they are in good condition and you like them.  That's really what's most important in my opinon.

If you like them then do ahead and wear them. I'm personally not a fan but I have really narrrow feet and the narrow toes just accentuate that and make my feet look funny.

I hope they aren't out of style because I will never stop wearing pointy toe boots.

The higher the heel, the pointier I can go without my feet looking huge (I'm a 9). I have a hard time with most pointy flats, but not pointy heels.

So, I could see a kitten heel looking more elongated than a higher heel and therefore more extreme, maybe?

But if they're as nice as they sound I'd definitely hang onto them, and even if they feel extreme now, in a few years, they're bound to come around again.
