ooh ooh, sorry to get ur hopes up, but i just wanted to say i wanna know this too!! i've got corns on several of my toes & they are painful at times & very ugly! do those dr. scholl's things work? anyone have exp. on this topic??
I thought I had a corn for over a year and I kept putting Dr. Scholl's type removers on it. Finally I went to a podiatrist who told me I didn't have a corn and literally to "get out of my office", lol. He did say that the OTC corn removers are essentially acids and that the only thing you do is strip layers of skin. I'd recommend going to a podiatrist before using anything, because they can remove them which is recommended because they can be painful.

I used to have a big one but it didn't really hurt because it was under my foot where I wouldn't put too much pressure on it. I did try Dr.sholls but it removed only layers of it. One time it removed a big gunk and I was so grossed out by it! but it was still there so I finally went to go see a doctor about it and he said they would be able to remove it by cutting it off, meaning I would have a hole depending on how deep it was, yuck! so anyways, I never set up the appointment, i'm a big sissy! but I did start to file it down and now its gone!
yes, corn removers are essentially salicylic acid, which is the same stuff used in acne cleansers, cremes, etc. I had a small corn once and put the Dr. Scholls corn remover on it for a couple days and it eventually thinned out.

yup, I guess thats what it did to mine cause at one point mine was HUGE! it was at the bottom of my foot to the side of my heel. after I used Dr. scholls as much as I could I started to file it down with those cheap priced things they sell to use for your feet. I'm not sure what they call them, but they sale them to use on your feet. i know some people use the filing on their heel to shed old skin away and stuff. you would find it where they sale the toe separator to polish your feet with, cotton balls, nail clippers.
I ended up using the Dr.Scholls remover and it made the corn/skin turn very white that it freaked me out. I stopped. It's not painful, just looked really weird. It's not so white anymore. Should I continue?
it might take a gunk of it off, dont freak out even though thats what I did! It should take layers or gunks off of it. Keep using it as told in the directions
