Did anyone watch? I really liked it!My husband kept complaining that if they showed all the funny stuff that happens on the show in all the previews he would be really pissed, but the show was really good overall and made us laugh. I have a crush on Castle in a Jason Bateman crush sort of way. Like, hes not HOT, but he is funny and I love all his facial expressions so it makes him really attractive. I really like the chemistry between him and Kate.
I also love the woman who plays his mother, she is hilarious.I really like that his daughter is more mature then he is and the sweet relationship they have too.
They didnt try to make the murder/investigation too serious, but it was still interesting and mysterious enough to get into.I liked that it wasnt totally disgusting in a Law & Order SVU kind of way.Thats why I stopped watching that show because it got too twisted.
I only got to watch the second half, since 10 time slot is reserved for the city(kincali=dork), but I liked it. If I'm going to watch hospital or crime shows they have to have a dose of comedy for me to like them. Otherwise they seem to real and my real life is already dramatic enough as it is, I need escape!
I also really liked it! I'm partial to Nathan Fillion (Castle) though - loved him in Buffy, Firefly, Dr. Horrible, etc. But overall I thought the show was entertaining and I could see the chemistry between Kate and Castle. I loved at the end when she smirked/whispered "you have no idea" to him.

Just watched it for the first time a couple days ago. I missed the first couple minutes, so maybe that's why I'm confused, but why is he tagging along with her? Is he a writer looking for ideas or something? I just couldn't get into it because it bugged me so much that it didn't make sense. Like, would a writer *really* be able to tag along on such serious investigations? I don't think so.

I didn't watch it either, but I mean to and forgot to DVR it. I thought it was a weird premise, too, Kelly- why would a writer be allowed to tag along? But maybe it's a "Murder She Wrote" kind of thing? Writer who writes murder mysteries helps solve actual murders?
I liked it too. I couldn't pinpoint where I had seen Castle before so I went to IMDB. It turns out he was Johnny from Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place.
I'm with you, Kelly - I think the whole premise is a little thin. In the first ep, he was part of the investigation because someone was killing people the same way he wrote about people being killed in his books. They resolved that and now he's gotten some special permission to tag along for "research" purposes (storyline is that he's just killed of his bestselling hero of several novels and is looking for new ideas).
I think the show is okay...watching Nathan Fillion for me is always bittersweet though. Sweet because he's so adorable and I like his snarkiness...but bitter because it makes me miss Firefly over and over again. There will never be another role so perfect for him as when he was Mal.

So from what I'm hearing from all of you this Firefly show was quite something! I had never heard of it until I started looking up Nathan Fillion's projects on Netflix because I like him so much on Castle. I hesitated adding it to my flix because I am really not into "space" shows or movies. Is it really that good?? Now I want to see it!

I'm not in to Sci-Fi AT ALL but I really did like Firefly. Totally worth watching!
Yeah, Firefly kicked ass. It was like a cross between a western and sci-fi. Nothing quite like it. And with a couple of really good, strong female characters.
ETA that I'll be watching the two episodes of Castle online this weekend solely because I loved him in Firefly.

Love Nathan Fillion and Firefly. Yes, Castle is a weak premise and I wish they would have tweaked a few things, but it's just supposed to be fluff TV. You can't overthink it. They seem to be going for a Moonlighting/Remington Steel vibe.
Not to hijack the thread, but if you want to see Nathan Fillion something truely funny, check out Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. It's a 3 part short film that Joss Weldon (the guy who wrote Firefly, Buffy, Angel ect) did with Nathan Fillion & Neil Patrick Harris during the writer's strike last year. The DVD of it came out around Christmas, but I downloaded it from Itunes last summer so it's probably still available there too. You won't be sorry, I promise.

I saw it on Netflix while Netflix stalking Nathan Fillion and thought it looked interesting because I also think Neil Patrick Harris is hilarious, so now I am definitely going to add it! Thanks!

I loved Neil Patrick Harris in it. I had no idea he was such a great singer. It's a quick watch too. Three episodes of around 13 -15 minutes each. Some of the songs are very catchy. But beware, Fillion doesn't play the hero, well he does but the hero is a jerk in this case (a really funny one though.) Harris, who plays a villian, is actually the "hero."
I just watched it for the first time last night and I enjoyed it. I'm not really into Crime Scene type shows but it was light and fluffy enough that I didn't mind it. Not sure if I'll catch it every week but I will watch it when I'm home and it's on tv.
