I read that this is supposed to be a really bad year for allergies. I'm kind of worried because mine are terrible normally. I think it's pretty common for people to develop allergies as they get older. Allergies really suck!
I haven't, but I'm sure it's the spring-like weather here. You are probably allergic to a certain type of tree or plant that only blooms in warm weather. If you haven't tried Claritin, it works really well. It's usually about $20 but it's on sale this week at CVS for $17 something. The temperature is supposed to drop again this weekend I hear, so maybe your allergies will improve.
I don't know where you live, but I never had allergies growing up. And then boom, one day, they just appeared. At first I thought I had a cold but I didn't feel bad and man! could I sneeze. I used to get bronchitis and everything from allergies and had to get inhalers, etc. It was bad. I started using Nasacort, a nasal inhaler - is that right?, and bam - no more allergies. I might sneeze every now and then but I never have allergy attacks, no matter what time of year or what's floating around outside. It's a really low absorption rate, too. I recommend it or whatever kind of nasal spray thing your doctor gives you, I'm sure they're all the same. They really helped me!
But if you want to do over the counter, I've found Alavert to work better for me than Claritin and Allegra. Some people really like Claritin but it's another option for ya!
i'll def. have to pick up some claratin - i've been feeling like i have a low level cold for months now but the warm weather is def. making it worse. i hate sneezing!
i have terrible allergies and feel worse than i have felt in a couple of years...i take Zyrtec, Allegra D, FLonase, Prednisone and Patanal.
Claritin is great over the counter. Steam helps mine--hot showers and a facial steamer. I take a vitamin, drink lots of fluids to keep sinuses open, herbal teas help some, keep windows up in the car and the house and use the air conditioner, change air filters every month, use a humidifyer at night, don't vacuum or dust unless you wear a mask, try to stay indoors during peak times,
