Food blogs anyone?
Permalink Closed

I know a lot of people are starting to do more cooking at home...and while I've always been a fan of food/cooking blogs, I'd love to know if anybody reads any that they really enjoy....

I get a lot of recipes from www.allrecipes.com, www.epicurious.com, and www.foodtv.com. I also love http://tastespotting.com. As far as individual blogs go...here are some of my favorites. Any other suggestions?

Most of my favorites have already been listed, but I also like this baking blog:

http://www.joythebaker.com/blog/

I do usually get most of my recipes from allrecipes.com or cook books, though. Allrecipes is making me lazy - I'll look up a recipe, like say chocolate chip cookies, then I'll sort the results by rating, and look at the top rated ones (taking into account how many votes were cast, of course). My friends and family say my baking has gotten a lot better in the past couple months, but secretly the only new thing I've been doing is sorting allrecipes.com by ratings!

the two i look at other than allrecipes are:

http://www.shallwecook.blogspot.com/ (sort of southern cooking)
http://www.yummydietfood.com/?fr=021709ban (this one focuses groceries vs cooking)

i also subscribe to hungry girl's newsletter, which has good recipes as well.

I just found this one today and I am in love. I love my crockpot and she has some awesome things you can make in it from drinks to yummy meals to soap.

I'm also trying to get another blog going that will be focusing on healthy things and will include recipes. If I can get it in decent shape I'll share it. Until then just look at the current one and select from the categories diet or crockpot.

I love Smitten Kitchen and 101 Cookbooks! Here are some of my favorites that no one's posted yet:

I love Tigers & Strawberries, written by a woman who is a chef at a middle eastern restuarant
http://www.tigersandstrawberries.com/

Appetite for China has  some seriously amazing recipes!  The author lives in China.

What's for Lunch Honey has some fun stuff
http://whatsforlunchhoney.blogspot.com/

I read yumsugar and get some good, quick recipes from that
http://www.yumsugar.com/

I can't post it from work because it's blocked, but I subscribe to the Food & Wine Magazine recipe RSS feed.  I love their recipes!

I have a livejournal that's basically turned into me posting pictures of stuff I cook.  Feel free to check it out!
