Going Out outfit- help please
Permalink Closed

This weekend is my good friend's birthday and we are going out for a girls night dancing at a country bar (her choice). I'm stumped as to what to wear.

As if figuring out what to wear to a country bar wasn't hard enough,  I've gained a bit of weight so none of my go-to going out gear fits. I have 1 pair of COH jeans that barely fit and a pair of skinny jeans that look ok.

I totally don't know what to wear! Any ideas that would look cute and not make me look like I am completely alien to a country bar?

hmm - what about jeans tucked into boots and a flowy top?  i think if you wear jeans and any kind of boots you'd be fine in a country and western bar.  cowboy boots would look appropriate if you have them.  and a flowy top w/ maybe an empire waist would cover up any extra weight gain - that's my go to outfit on "fat" days.

I would do your skinny jeans, a tunic fitting top and really tall heels , let us know what you pick!

How about a casual flowy dress and boots?

I agree with this, if you have boots. What is your friend wearing, can you ask her?

I agree.  I have a friend who drags me out to country bars every so often (so not my taste) and everyone there is in jeans and boots.  A lot of t- shirts as well.  I think if you pair your jeans with what ever top in your closet that makes you feel cute you'll blend in fine.

I agree w/ AG regarding attire.  For myself, I've decided that blending isn't always the most fun.

I like the idea of the dress with boots - it can be fun to be a little different and it will work in a country bar.  If that's not your style....I'd go jeans tucked into boots
