I hate the economy!

I'm not really sure where this should go so I picked here.  My FI was laid off Friday.  So far we really hadn't been effected by the economy and were very thankful.  The company was doing extremely pooly and he was one of the newer people so it made sense.  They laid off quite a few.  It sucks because Walmart just did layoffs in this area and so there are no jobs to be found! 

No real question I just wanted to vent.  I hate this economy!  Especially one month before we get married!

oh, no.  well, that's certainly awful timing.  no wonder you're stressed.

all you can do is look at the positives right now.   you're both young, healthy, have a bright future ahead of you and a beautiful wedding coming up.  there's a lot to enjoy and be thankful for. 

like I said before, it's all going to be ok...

Aw Heatherlynn-I'm so sorry.  I too hate this economy!  I agree with D amd at least you still have your job and benefits.  My job has also been eliminated and Friday is my last day.  I feel like just when we were beginning to get a handle on our expenses and life then this happens (and it sucks!). 

It will be okay.  You have each other and really that's all that matters in the end.

That's how we feel!  We just built a house this summer and there were so many expenses that came with it that we weren't expecting.  We were finally getting caught up and in a great place. 

I'm sorry to hear about you!  I'm definitely ready for a year from now when things will start to look better and I bet you are too.

Oh well.  We will be fine and we are lucky because I do have a fantastic job that isn't going anywhere.  Things will just be a little harder for awhile. I hate it for him because he really liked his job and was doing well at it.  His old boss has been extremely nice and is helping him look for new ones, giving him contacts, being a recommendation, etc.  He has always wanted to start up his own business so he is using this time to pursue that which makes me happy. =)

I'm so sorry for you and your fiance. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise... had he not been layed off, he wouldn't have explored his business owning ideas.

I agree. This may be a great time for him to start his own business. Plus, it is great that his ex-boss is helping him out.
